Rota Runt på lämpligt sätt

KUDE

KUDE (Kommunal Utåtriktad Dans Ensemble) is Norrdans’ intergenerational amateur dance ensemble with participants from the municipality of Härnösand. Eleven people participated in the community project and the ages ranged between 14-78 years.

" It feels great fun! Jonathan is very good at creating a safe place where we as a group dare to improvise, test different approaches and try it out," says participant Eva Henning.

For over 15 weeks, the participants worked together with the choreographer and composer Jonathan Starr and the dance developer Jenny Lundmark to create the dance performance Rota runt på lämpligt sätt.

The work premiered 27th April 2024 at Härnösands Sambiblioteket.

Rota Runt på lämpligt sätt

We root around and sift through the mess.
We zoom in and maximise the smallest details.
We zoom out and let the landscape hold us.

A combination of separate dances that intertwine together, crafting new imaginary worlds in order to find new perspectives on the spaces we occupy. A work that acts as a container and explores various ways to coexist, play, share, merge, build, remember.

From four sides, the audience sees a collage made up of paper sculptures, movement and sound. The dancers move and map, transform and rebuild the space. A new landscape is created.
